Our world is rapidly changing. Along with our concept of mobility and sustainable, mindful living. BMW i is a comprehensive concept for sustainable, pioneering mobility. It stands for visionary electric vehicles and mobility services, inspiring design and a new understanding of premium quality. This is strongly defined by sustainability and impressive, innovative vehicles such as the fully electric BMW i3 and the BMW iX3, the first fully electric sports activity vehicle from the BMW Group.
Elements made of sustainable materials such as kenaf fibre, virgin wool and eucalyptus wood as well as 100% vegetable tanned leather with a tanning agent made of olive leaves – sustainability is more than just a buzzword at BMW i. It is a guiding principle. Which is why the entire life cycle of the BMW i3 is designed according to the principle of maximum resource conservation and sustainability. The same is true of the BMW iX3: this model features the fifth generation of BMW eDrive technology, which works without the use of controversial rare earth metals.
«Absolutely amazing how consistently sustainability is implemented in the BMW i3. I’m still fascinated by the materials used in the interior. A totally new approach. Great look, great feel. I would like to see the kenaf fibres and the eucalyptus wood in other BMW and MINI models, too.»
